Keynote Address: Can Organic Food Protect us Against Cancer?

Remarkable new discoveries from England suggest that ripe, locally harvested organic food contains ingredients placed there by nature as a defense against disease which also attack cancer cells in the human body. Come and learn about this, and the many other health benefits of organic food.

Victoria author Guy Dauncey has just finished writing a new book titled Cancer: 101 Solutions to a Preventable Epidemic, and he is Co-Chair of Prevent Cancer Now, a new Canadian non-profit society (www.preventcancernow.ca). He is also President of the BC Sustainable Energy Association, and the author of several other books. His website is www.earthfuture.com

The SCIO Biofeedback Health Device

The SCIO Biofeedback health device measures the body’s reactance to over 9000 frequencies, gathering over 64 million bits of information. The device can then stimulate and feed the body back those frequencies requiring balancing using a number of therapies such as electro-acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathy, homeopathics, herbology etc.

Certified therapists offered 20 minute demonstration sessions for $20.00.

Network and brainstorm for healthy communities

In this 50-minute session, participants will get a chance to meet other like-minded individuals and talk about a favourite subject - how to make the world a healthier place. Working in pairs, small groups, and in the larger forum, we will get to know each other and brainstorm ways to increase our own personal food awareness and that of the larger society.

Protecting Yourself From Electromagnetic Radiation

Electromagnetic Radiation from cell phones, cell phone towers, microwave towers and the myriad of electronic devices of modern society has been described by the World Health Organization and many health officials as a most serious threat tp health of modern times. We are bombarded by over 100 million times more EMFS than our grandparents and disease and cancer rates are increasing exponentially. Learn about simple, inexpensive solutions to protect yourself and those you love.

The Girl, the Stage and Baba Snowstorm

At an all-ages set at the Organic Islands Festival Reisa Stone, professional storyteller, writer, singer, and visual artist, will delight everyone with her rewritten Ukrainian legend, The Girl, The Stag and Baba Snowstorm, which she has performed with Puente Theatre. “I see this story as especially appropriate for the event. It's about the rewards of living with the land and deeply respecting the forces of Nature, told from the viewpoint of a person indigenous to Eastern Europe,” says Reisa. “I'll also tell an original story that anyone, adult or child, who has ever longed for a horse or run amuck of a determined pig, will love.”

Reisa is looking forward to the Festival “to connect with people who have similar values.” She recently received a pleasant surprise: Victorians showed overwhelming support while she battled to conserve a small urban forest in front of her apartment and the (at least) 14 species of wildlife it shelters. For more information about Reisa and her conservation efforts, please visit Organic Islands Festival, News Room and www.reisastone.blogspot.com
