![]() Eagle Paws Organics was born in 2000 at Chipperfield Farm in East Sooke by owner, Candace Thompson. The beginnings were rooted in family history, belief in supporting a healthy family, utilizing the skills known, maintaining an outdoor lifestyle, sustainable and environmentally conscious living, building a tangible business, and a deep love for the incredible world of food, the earth and living passionately. Eagle Paws Organics has expanded and flowed in various ways over the years from a market gardening and home box delivery business to a finer tuned more intimate business that provides great local chefs with certified organic quality and seasonal vegetables grown specifically for their needs. Moss Street market continues to be a weekly Saturday adventure to fulfill the local, wise palettes of Victorians who believe in sustainability and support the local and seasonal food movement. Eagle Paws Organics has recently undergone some serious infrastructure transformations including the installation of a large greenhouse and expansion of the existing main farm site. The new greenhouse project has been an incredible catalyst for stepping the business up to a new level. This project was enabled by the solidity of deep relationships between the great chefs, Peter Zambrii of Zambriis, Kevin Gomes of Canoe, Chris Joyce of Vista 18 and Garett Sharpe of Temple and the continual flow of support from WIN who worked with Eagle Paws creating a fundraiser back in February. Eagle Paws Organics is proud to belong to a vibrant, tangible and accessible organic culture that has many dimensions and continues to flourish. Eagle Paws Organics continues to expand its rays by educating apprentices through SOIL (Stewards of Irreplaceable Land), continuing to learn from the many wise farmers through SIOPA (Southern Island Organic Producers Association) and the certifying body IOPA, assisting schools with garden programs, mentoring other new entrepreneurs, welcoming WWOOFERS (World Wide Workers on Organic Farms), and public speaking about organic farm issues.
