Quick Links:
1. GreenFEAT ChallengeFrom Deb Morse, Festival DirectorWith only one day to go, things are really greening up in and around Victoria. Canada's largest outdoor green festival is set to attract thousands of visitors eager to explore how we can create a sustainable future in this region. Over 100 exhibitors will display everything from mud home building to interactive local diet cooking demos to pedometer races to teach children about healthy eating. Local, slow, natural, inspiring, hip, the Organic Islands Festival provides a look at the who's who in the green community. It is organized by Organic Islands Promotions which I launched in 2005. With a part-time staff and volunteer team committed to sustainability amazing things can happen! In the spirit of sustainability, we're calling on all visitors to the Organic Islands Festival to take up the GreenFEAT Challenge. Come to the festival on July 7 or July 8, 10 am to 5 pm, using a sustainable means of transportation. Some options include:
Lock up your bike to the bike carriage at the front gate courtesy of SPUD (Small Potatoes Urban Delivery) or along the fence in the Reserved parking lot. For bus information and directions see: Getting there To receive your discount you must report to the front gate staff about your mode of transport, AND you must use the PASSWORD to receive your 30% discount:
GreenFEAT Admission Fees:
All means of transportation chosen should be covered by appropriate insurance, be legal and conform to all applicable codes. The weather is superb, so please come and join the party on Vancouver Island this weekend. We can't wait for it to start!
Yours for a sustainable, organic future,

1. Does your for-profit company have an owner? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, your company or organization is not operating organically! Want to hear about how to green up your company's management systems and communication practices? A dynamic management system known as "sociocracy", used in the Netherlands for 40 years and now being adopted internationally, will help your business or organization adapt, and be creative just like any living system. Feedback from our sponsors and partners
"Nature’s Path Foods was a sponsor and exhibitor at the first festival for Organic Islands. The organizers did a fantastic job of advertising and promotions for the event. A consumer profile of the attendees may be described as "main-stream organic" meaning that they had previously sought out and bought organic products, and had some generic knowledge of organic issues. Overall the event was a success and provided great exposure and access to lots of networking with other organic enterprises."
Dag Falck, Organic Program Manager
"An absolutely fantastic show and great weather to boot. That is to say, all that you were in charge of (and weren’t in charge of) was excellent! Level Ground Trading had a great show - the visitors were great to meet with."
Stacey Toews, Fair Trade and Social Justice Advocate
"We’ve been getting rave reviews about the weekend and what a great event you produced. The feedback has all been positive and everyone is looking forward to the next Organic Islands Festival."
